Waconia Man Charged with Sexual Assault in Mankato

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – A Waconia man is being charged with criminal sexual assault for an incident that occurred in Mankato last week.

Thirty-one-year-old Jacob John Knowles is charged with two counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of assault with a weapon after allegedly bringing a woman into a hotel room and assaulting her.

According to the criminal complaint, Knowles met the woman on a dating app, and after they met, he threatened her with a pipe to get her into a hotel room and sexually assaulted her various times throughout the night.

Knowles will make his first court appearance on April 23.
