Watertown Ice Arena Earns National Recognition

Watertown’s Prairie Lakes Ice Arena is receiving national recognition as a model of community collaboration.

Representatives from three leading infrastructure organizations honored the 36-and-a-half-million-dollar facility during a stop on the national Engineering and Public Works Roadshow.

The arena was one of only four projects selected for this year’s tour. It was recognized for bringing together city officials, engineers, private businesses and community members.

Local fundraising generated ten million dollars toward the project, which opened in 2024 following nearly two decades of planning. City of Watertown
