WHCA Dinner Shooting Investigation

(ABC News/Learfield News/Washington, D.C.)  President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and other dignitaries were forced to evacuate after a shooting incident outside the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner Saturday night at the Washington, D.C., Hilton hotel,which has been the site of nearly every WHCA Dinner since 1968.

The suspect has been identified as 31-year-old Cole Thomas Allen of Torrance, California.

Authorities say he had a shotgun, a handgun and multiple knives.

A Secret Service agent wearing a bulletproof vest was shot, but he is OK

At least two Minnesotans were in attendance,Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey and Republican Congressman Tom Emmer.

Neither Frey nor Emmer were injured.

It remains unclear how many other Minnesotans, including journalists and guests, attended the dinner.
