(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Wild made some moves on opening day of the N-H-L free agency period.

The team signed forward Yakov Trenin to a four-year contract worth three-and-a-half million dollars yesterday.

Trenin spent last season with both the Predators and the Avalanche.

He had 12 goals and five assists in 76 games last year.

In other team news, the Wild re-signed defenseman Jake Middleton to a four-year deal.

In addition, the team added eight other free agents on two-way deals, including former Gopher Travis Boyd, Joseph Cecconi, Cameron Crotty, Brendan Gaunce, Troy Grosenick, Reese Johnson, Ben Jones, and Deven Shore.
