Wild Defeat Golden Knights
The Wild scored three goals in just over three minutes to blow things open en route to doubling up the Golden Knights 4-2 on Friday night in Las Vegas. Mats Zuccarello, Zach Bogosian and Michael McCarron scored 3:06 a part in the second period – including just :18 second in between the Bogosian and McCarron tallies – to jump in front of the Knights 3-0. Vladimir Tarasenko would score in the third and the Wild go on to win their second in a row and sweep the season series from Vegas. Filip Gustavsson made 30 saves in the victory. Gustavsson admits, the Wild are playing some solid hockey out of the Olympic break.
The win was the 400th in the career of John Hynes as a head coach in the N-H-L. The game was also the Wild debut of forwards McCarron and former Minnetonka Skipper Bobby Brink. Both were grabbed ahead of the N-H-L Trade Deadline along with forward Nick Foligno and defenseman Jeff Petry. Both will join the team on Sunday in Denver and could be in the line up against the Avalanche for a 1 P-M puck drop from Ball Arena.
