Wild get a point, but lose in Shootout

(Newark, New Jersey) — The Wild got a point out of the Devils despite suffering a 3-2 shootout loss on Monday night in New Jersey. The Wild scored twice in the third period to pull the game even at 2-2 and force overtime including Matt Boldy’s 100th career goal with 2:08 left in the game. Vinnie Hinostroza also scored in the third period as the Wild move to 41-28-8 on the season and their 88 points are now one more than the Blues with just seven games left to play in the regular season. Filip Gustavsson made 26 saves in the first 65 minutes of the game but was 0-for-2 in the shootout. The road trip continues on Wednesday against the Rangers and will conclude on Friday against the Islanders.
