Wild win opener

(St. Paul, MN) — Matt Boldy had three points in his first game since April as the Wild edged the Blue Jackets 3-2 on Thursday night in their season opener. Boldy missed all of training camp and preseason but showed little sign of rust as he helped the Wild with a goal and two assists in the victory. His line, along with Joel Eriksson Ek and Marcus Johansson, accounted for six points on seven shots. Mats Zuccarello ended up with the game winner in the third period. Filip Gustavsson made 30 saves. The Wild are now 17-3-4 all time in season openers and 10-1-1 when they open the season at Xcel Energy Center. They’ll host the Kraken on Saturday night at 7 P-M before spending the rest of the month on the road.
