Williams and Grant help Trail Blazers beat Timberwolves 122-108
PORTLAND, OR – Robert Williams and Jerami Grant each scored 19 points to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 122-108 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday night. Williams, who had recently returned from a knee injury, added nine rebounds and three assists to his impressive performance.
Naz Reid was the standout for the Timberwolves, finishing with 28 points in the losing effort, while star guard Anthony Edwards contributed 26 points.
Despite being ranked as one of the worst 3-point shooting teams in the NBA, the Blazers put on a shooting clinic, draining 18 of 32 attempts (56%) from beyond the arc.
Portland came out strong, taking a 28-17 lead by the end of the first quarter. The advantage was highlighted by a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Dalano Banton, who entered the game after Anfernee Simons was forced to leave due to a chest injury. Banton’s timely shot gave the Blazers a commanding edge early on, setting the tone for the rest of the night.
