Willmar Man Appointed to Walz’ Council on Operation Metro Surge
(Learfield News/Willmar, MN) Willmar’s Pablo Obregon says he’s honored to serve on Governor Tim Walz’s council documenting the impact of Operation Metro Surge and Operation PARRIS.
Obregon says the group’s job is to listen to Minnesotans and preserve their stories about how the ICE operations affected their lives.
He says, “Of course, there is a lot of metro activity that happened, but also in our state, such as Willmar and other communities that experienced very heartbreaking experiences. So I want to make sure that we all collect those stories, and I have the privilege to be part of that council.”
Obregon is the director of community growth for the city of Willmar.
The goal is for the council to submit a final report to Governor Walz in December.
