Willmar Man Killed in SUV–Semi Crash Near Hawick

A Willmar man was killed in a collision involving an S-U-V and a semi Saturday afternoon near Hawick.

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office says 44-year-old Guillermo Ontoniel Castillo Blandon was driving east on County Road 33 when his vehicle collided with a northbound semi at County Road 2 in Roseville Township.

Emergency crews extricated Castillo Blandon and attempted lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene. The 67-year-old semi driver was treated and released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
