Willmar Man Pleads Guilty in Fatal Shooting

A Willmar man has pleaded guilty in connection with a gang-related shooting that left a teenager dead last year.

Eighteen-year-old Jamile Abdille entered a Norgaard plea in Kandiyohi County District Court Wednesday to second-degree murder without intent while committing a felony and second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

Prosecutors say Abdille accidentally shot and killed his teenage friend while they were firing at people in a vehicle in southeast Willmar on May 12th, 2025.

Abdille says he cannot remember the shooting but acknowledged there is enough evidence to convict him.

He’ll be sentenced October 13th.
