Willmar School evacuated

Kennedy Elementary School in Willmar was evacuated Tuesday, after reports of a gas smell in the building.

District officials say no one was harmed by the reported gas or the evacuation as students were evacuated to the Willmar Educational and Arts Center. The school was later declared safe and students and staff returned. Reports say the source came from a routine occurence linked to a kitchen heater and the investigation found that there was no safety risk.
