Willmar Woman Incompetent to Stand Trial

A Willmar woman accused of stabbing her ex-boyfriend in the head has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial.

On Thursday, the Rule-20 exam results were revealed at a hearing in Kandiyohi County District Court for 26-year-old Cheyenne Angeline Nelson.

The Kandiyohi County Attorney’s Office is contesting those results, and a hearing on the matter has been scheduled for March 31st.

The victim was taken to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of a stab wound to the head and left ear.
