Wolves bring back Conley
(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Timberwolves announced the team has signed guard Mike Conley. Conley, 38, has appeared in 1,216 career games (1,137 starts) in 19 seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, Utah Jazz and Timberwolves The 6-1 guard appeared in 44 games (nine starts) earlier this season for Minnesota, averaging 4.4 points, 1.8 rebounds and 2.9 assists in 18.5 minutes per game. Conley is one of only four active players and nine in N-B-A history to total more than 16,000 points, 6,500 assists, 3,500 rebounds and 1,600 steals (James Harden, LeBron James and Russell Westbrook). Conley was dealt away at the trade deadline but returns now to help bolster a Wolves team that’s currently in sixth place in the Western Conference. Minnesota returns to action on Friday against the Mavericks.
