Wolves drop Game 1, Ant named All NBA
(Minneapolis, MN) — Luka Donic scored 15 of his 33 points in the final frame as the Mavericks beat the Timberwolves 108-105 to take Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals. Kyrie Irving added 30 points while Jaden McDaniels countered with 24 for Minnesota – his third straight game with at least 20 points. Anthony Edwards had 19 points and Karl Anthony Towns put up 16 but in the end the Mavs proved to strong as they overpowered the home team late in the contest . Both teams traded punches throughout the night to the tune of seven ties and 14 lead changes, as the home Wolves led by three at the half, and by just a single point entering the fourth quarter. An Edwards triple put MN up 102-98 with just 3:37 left in the contest, but an instant answer from Doncic cut the lead back to 1, part of the Mavs’ 10-3 run to close the game. Game 2 is Friday night at 7:30 P-M from Target Center.
