Wolves on the brink of elimination
(Denver, CO) — Denver star center Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets to their third-straight takedown of the Minnesota Timberwolves in the N-B-A’s Western Conference semifinals last night in Colorado. Denver defeated Minnesota 112-97 in Game Five to take a three-games-to-two lead in the best-of-seven series. Jokic led the charge with 40 points, 13 assists, seven rebounds, two steals and a block. He became just the second player in N-B-A postseason history to record 40 points, 10 assists and zero turnovers in a game. Aaron Gordon chipped in a double-double with 18 points and 10 boards. Karl-Anthony Towns paced Minnesota with 23 points in the losing effort. The Wolves were without starting point guard Mike Conley, Jr., who was dealing with a leg injury. Game Six will be played in Minneapolis tomorrow night at 7:30 P-M at the Target Center.
