Wolves win as KG Returns to Target Center
(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Timberwolves closed out the regular season with a 132-126 home win over New Orleans with all-time franchise great Kevin Garnett watching courtside. This was the first time Garnett had been back at the Target Center for a game since 2018. The Wolves rested most of their starters and got big games from some unlikely sources. Joan Beringer started at center and registered a 24-point, 13-rebound double-double, while forward Joe Ingles turned in a 15-point, ten-assist double-double. Terrence Shannon led the way for Minnesota with 26 points. Anthony Edwards, Julius Randle, Rudy Gobert, Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, Ayo Dosunmo, Bones Hyland, Kyle Anderson, and Mike Conley all sat out the game. The 26-56 Pelicans were led by Derik Queen’s 30 points. Minnesota finished the regular season at 49-33 and will face Denver in the opening round of the N-B-A Playoffs on Saturday at 2:30 P-M in Colorado.
