Wolves win Double OT Thriller
(Denver, CO) — The Minnesota Timberwolves eventually came through in the clutch during a 140-139 double overtime win over the Denver Nuggets at Ball Arena last night. Nickeil Alexander-Walker was fouled on a game-winning three-point shot attempt with less than a second left and made two of his three free throws to put the Wolves up for good. Anthony Edwards poured in 34 points in the victory, while Alexander-Walker and Julius Randle each finished with 26. Minnesota had chances to win the game at the end of regulation and the end of the first overtime, but missed last second shot attempts. Denver was led by an incredible effort from superstar Nikola Jokic, who scored 61 points, grabbed ten rebounds and had ten assists. The Wolves have won three in a row and are tied for sixth place in the Western Conference at 44-32. Minnesota was without Naz Reid and Donte DiVincenzo, who were both suspended for the game as a result of the skirmish against Detroit on Sunday night. The Wolves will visit the Brooklyn Nets tomorrow night at 6:30 P-M.
