Woman Rescued After Overnight Search Near Mankato

A 50-year-old woman is recovering after being rescued from the Le Sueur River following an overnight search south of Mankato.

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office received the missing-person report shortly before 7:00 P-M Friday. Deputies found the woman’s vehicle, personal belongings and dog near a river access about four miles south of Mankato.

The search involved drones, K-9 teams, boats, a State Patrol helicopter and the sheriff’s dive team.

Around 7:15 A-M Saturday, people walking nearby heard someone in the river calling for help. Rescuers found the woman and brought her safely to shore.

She was taken to a Mankato hospital and treated for minor injuries and overnight exposure. Officials say she was in stable condition.
