Wright County Recruiting Residents for Data Center Workgroup
At Tuesday’s Wright County board meeting, the commissioners approved the formation of a data center workgroup that will meet monthly to discuss the data center moratorium for Wright County townships and to help craft an ordinance that will be submitted to the county board for approval.
Officials say the goal is to get a variety of members on the workgroup (currently looking to have 14 members) from different walks of life and with different skillsets.
The workgroup will serve in an advisory capacity and provide recommendations to the County Board of Commissioners regarding issues associated with data center development – including balancing economic development opportunities with long-term environmental, infrastructure, and community impacts.
