Wrong Way Driver Arrested for DWI/Fleeing in Chaska

A driver was arrested in Chaska last week after he was initially driving the wrong way on Yellow Brick Road and caused an officer to stop in the middle of the road to avoid a crash Thursday night.

The driver drove around the officer’s squad and then pulled into the Arby’s drive-thru where he began ordering food.

The officer approached the vehicle and began a DWI investigation after recognizing the driver’s signs of impairment. The officer asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, but the driver took off, driving over a curb and grass to get back to the street.

While trying to flee, the driver struck 2 squad cars.

His vehicle was disabled about 2.5 miles away from Arby’s after he crashed into several unoccupied vehicles parked on Stoughton Ave.

The driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at a nearby hospital.

He was then booked into the Carver County jail for numerous charges including 1st and 2nd degree assault, driving while impaired, and fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle.
